National Cluster Programmes

During the Centre of Expertise period 2007-2013, Hermia Ltd is responsible for the coordination of two national cluster programmes.

Coordinators of expertise clusters bring together national expertise resources and open an entirely new kind of knowledge and expertise distribution channel for business and research.

With expertise networks, it is possible to generate new business and employment from research and the results of research, while strengthening a region’s competitiveness. Through the programme, companies can improve their own competitiveness. For research institutions, the networks open the doors to challenging national and European research and product development projects.

13 national expertise clusters

The Centre of Expertise Programme implements 13 national expertise clusters. Each comprises 4 to 7 regional centres of expertise. An expertise cluster is a network and cooperation forum for the centres of expertise, and it operates as a managed network for the purpose of reaching shared aims.

Programme directors have been selected to coordinate each cluster’s national and international activities.

The activities of expertise clusters are based on their cluster programmes, which define strategic areas of emphasis and the aims of activities.
