The Centre of Expertise Programme (OSKE)

The programme is realised by 13 national expertise clusters, each consisting of 4 to 7 regional centres of expertise. The expertise clusters are networks and cooperation forums for the centres of expertise belonging to them. The expertise clusters function as supervised networks that aim to reach shared goals.

During the programme period 2007–2013, Hermia Oy is responsible for coordinating two national cluster programmes. The coordinators of the expertise cluster gather the national expertise resources, in turn opening up a new kind of channel for disseminating knowledge and expertise in business and research.

With the help of the expertise networks, new business activity can be created from research and its results. This will create new jobs and strengthen the competitiveness of the regions. Companies can improve their own competitiveness with the help of the programme. For research institutes, the networks open up routes to challenging Finnish and European research and product development projects.

Ubiquitous computing

The national cluster programme for ubiquitous computing aims to give Finland leading expertise in the commercialisation and utilisation of intelligence that is human-centred, decentralised, mobile and adapted into the built environment.

Intelligent machines

The national cluster programme for intelligent machines aims to make Finland into one of the world's leading concentrations of expertise in the research, development, commercialisation and utilisation of intelligent machines.
